Washington State Flags
The Washington state flag is unique for two reasons: it is the only flag with a green field, and it is the only flag with the image of an actual person. The state seal, which bears George Washington's likeness, is centered on the green field. The year 1889 appears at the bottom rim of the seal, this being the year the seal was created by Charles Talcott. Although the Washington state flag has had the same design since its creation, there was some fluctuation until the state standardized the colors in 1955 and adopted a modernized design of the seal in 1967.
